What Kolibri-1 is used for
Aleph Alpha targets Kolibri at regulated areas including public administration, industrials and aerospace, with internal benchmarks for the German public sector, aviation, manufacturing and automotive. The model supports configurable reasoning effort and tool calling. Serving uses the aleph-alpha-inference package, which provides a vLLM plugin and a container image, and the FP8 weights need at least two A100 80 GB GPUs or one H200, B200 or B300.
Questions people ask
- What license does Kolibri-1 use?
- Apache 2.0, but the model card says it covers only the weights and configuration files, not code, architecture, parameter settings or training methods.
- Which languages does Kolibri-1 support?
- German and English. Aleph Alpha calls the two-language focus a deliberate choice of depth over breadth.
